Gloaty

Gloaty lets friend groups share their daily word-game scores. This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

Account — your email address and a hashed password.
Profile — the display name you choose.
Game results — the grid you submit (tile colours/letters), your score, and the time submitted.
Group activity — the groups you join, chat messages, and emoji reactions you post.
Screenshots — when you submit a board, the image is processed to read the grid. On newer devices this happens on-device; otherwise the image is sent to our server, used only to extract the grid, and not retained.
Push token — if you enable notifications, a device push token so we can notify you about your groups.

How we use it

To run the app: authenticate you, show your groups' leaderboards and chat, and send notifications you opt into. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Sharing

Data is shared only with the members of groups you join (your name, scores, grids, messages, reactions). We use third-party processors to operate the service (hosting and, for some screenshot parsing, a vision model provider) under their respective terms.

Retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and personal data (profile, results, messages, reactions).
